Our story

Diapers are vital for newborns

as they keep babies clean and dry, reducing the risk of diaper rash and infections. They offer comfort and security, making movement easier, while also providing convenience for parents. Diapers help monitor health by tracking bowel movements and prevent leaks to keep surroundings clean. Additionally, changing diapers fosters bonding between parents and their newborns, supporting both infant health and caregiving.

Underprivileged new mothers face significant challenges

in accessing diapers for their newborns. Financial constraints often make diapers unaffordable, forcing families to prioritize other necessities. Limited access to affordable diaper programs and transportation issues can further complicate the situation. Additionally, stigma may prevent mothers from seeking help, and many lack awareness of available resources. Without sufficient diapers, mothers worry about their baby's hygiene and health, leading to increased stress. These challenges highlight the urgent need for supportive programs and resources to assist families in need.

Environmental Impact of Diapers

Disposable Nappies and Waste

Every minute, over 300,000 disposable nappies (or diapers) are incinerated, sent to landfill, or pollute the environment, making them one of the biggest contributors to plastic waste globally.

Carbon Footprint

The disposable diaper industry consumes approximately 248 million barrels of crude oil annually, contributing significantly to its carbon footprint (Ellen MacArthur Foundation).

Usage per Baby

Each baby uses about 4,000 to 6,000 nappies before potty training, leading to a sizable carbon footprint even for the newest newborns.

Recycling Challenges

The combination of materials in disposable nappies makes them very difficult to recycle, especially once used

Cost

They can be a financial burden for families due to constant replenishment.

Climate Change

Their production and decomposition contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Our SOLUTION

Our solution is reusable diapers. Reusable diapers provide several benefits for families

  • They reduce landfill waste by being washable and reusable, making them environmentally friendly.
  • While the initial cost is higher, they save money over time by eliminating the need for constant purchases of disposables.
  • Many are made from natural materials, which are healthier for babies, and feature adjustable sizes for a better fit.
  • Available in various colors and designs, they can also be highly absorbent, potentially reducing the frequency of changes.
  • Additionally, purchasing reusable diapers supports local economies, as many brands are small businesses.

These advantages make them an appealing choice for families.
